I'm Kayla. I am a Certified Red Seal Horticulturist. I began my professional journey with horticulture in 2015.
My first day on the job was notably rainy, cold, & windy. Everything was heavy, dirty, awkward & scary. I knew so little, but I was beyond excited to leave office work behind. My new career (literally) landed in my hands.
On top of running my little business, I am also a mom, dog mom, wife, sister, a daughter, and a friend.
Education & Certifications
Gaining my Red Seal began when my former employer sponsored me as an apprentice. I am beyond grateful for the light that they saw in me.
This incredible opportunity allowed me to pursue professional training in a classroom & under direct supervision of highly skilled mentors.
My apprenticeship was through the Industry Training Authority & HortBC. I studied at Kwantlen Polytechnic University & the University of British Columbia.
I have completed over 15,000 hours in this skilled trade.
